Privacy Policy
Last updated: April 2026
See You Friday places great importance on protecting your personal data. This policy explains what data we collect through our mobile application, why, and how we use it.
1. Data collected
When you use the See You Friday app, we collect the following data:
- Device ID — a unique identifier generated automatically when you first open the app. No email address, password, or personal information is required
- Followed artists — the list of artists you choose to follow
- Notification preferences — your settings for which release types trigger notifications (albums, singles, EPs)
- Preferred streaming platform — your selected music streaming service for quick access to releases
We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, location, or any other personal information.
2. Purpose of processing
Your data is used exclusively to:
- Identify your account and restore your preferences
- Send you push notifications about new releases from your followed artists
- Display relevant streaming links based on your preferred platform
We never sell, rent, or share your data with third parties for commercial purposes.
3. Legal basis
The processing of your data is based on the legitimate interest of providing the service you signed up for (GDPR Art. 6.1.b — performance of a contract). Push notifications are based on your explicit consent (GDPR Art. 6.1.a), which you can withdraw at any time.
4. Push notifications
Push notifications are entirely opt-in. You choose whether to enable them when you first use the app, and you can disable them at any time from your device settings or the app settings.
You can also configure which types of releases trigger notifications (albums, singles, EPs) to receive only the alerts that matter to you.
5. Third-party services
The following services may process data as part of the app's operation:
- MusicBrainz — open music encyclopedia used to retrieve artist and release data. No user data is shared with MusicBrainz
- Expo Push Notifications — used to deliver push notifications to your device. Only your device push token is shared (Expo, based in the United States)
- Sentry — error tracking service used to detect and fix bugs. May receive anonymized technical data such as device type and OS version (Sentry, based in the United States)
- Neon — managed PostgreSQL database hosting where your account data is stored (Neon, based in the United States)
6. International data transfers
Some of our third-party service providers are based in the United States. These transfers are carried out in compliance with GDPR, using appropriate safeguards such as Standard Contractual Clauses (SCCs) or the EU-US Data Privacy Framework where applicable.
7. Data retention
Your data is kept for as long as your account exists. When you delete your account, all associated data (device ID, followed artists, preferences) is permanently deleted from our servers.
8. Account deletion
You can delete your account at any time directly from the app settings. Deletion is immediate and irreversible — all your data will be permanently removed from our servers.
9. Your rights
In accordance with GDPR, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — know what data we hold about you
- Right of rectification — correct your data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
- Right to object — object to the processing of your data
- Right to portability — receive your data in a structured format

10. Children's privacy
See You Friday is not intended for children under 16 years of age (or the applicable minimum age in your country under GDPR Art. 8 or COPPA). We do not knowingly collect data from children. If you believe a child has used the app, please contact us so we can delete their data.
11. Cookies and tracking
The See You Friday app does not use cookies, tracking technologies, or analytics tools. We do not track your behavior, location, or browsing activity.
12. Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, modification, disclosure, or destruction.
13. Changes
This policy may be updated. In case of substantial changes, we will notify you through the app. The latest version is always available on this page.
